My name is Alexander Carson and I have played piano for over 30 years and taught for over 20. I have taught many different styles like Classical, Jazz, Contemporary, Rock/Pop and more and I can teach piano up to grade 8 (ABRSM), and music theory (ABRSM) to grade 5, or I can teach students who want to learn just for fun. I also teach composition, improvisation and arrangement and have worked within the music industry for over 15 years.

Multi-Discipline
Piano is the only instrument that utilises every part of the brain, I incorporate this thinking into my teaching. Some students are visually led, some aurally, it’s about finding the way that suits you.

Passion
I don’t believe in old-fashioned, classical teaching techniques and believe that your musical interests should lead the lessons. It’s important that you are enthusiastic about what you’re learning!
